Comment[edit]

The resignation para belongs at the end of the article, not the beginning where it was put. However, as long as events are flying this fast, I will forego a thorough reediting of the article for the time being. Rlquall 12:07, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Comment[edit]

I apologize in advance if my edit is too silly, but it must be pointed out that citation is given to a mainstream news source and any edit that noted the event would come across as silly given what has occurred.TGGP 04:28, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Umm, this article needs sources. Badly. I'm going to remove nearly all of the content here, as WP:BLP compels that action. If cited, as I suspect most of it can be, it should be readded to the article. But until then, not citing a single source is simply not an option. · j e r s y k o talk · 03:23, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear, I honestly believe John Ford is a corrupt politician, and a lot of the information I removed needs to be replaced. But it must be cited. · j e r s y k o talk · 03:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

N[edit]

Does anyone know what his middle initial stands for for redirect and disambig purposes? Tyciol (talk) 19:07, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Newton. The TN Encyclopedia of History and Culture contains articles on John and Harold, Sr, and gives his name as John Newton Ford. I believe NJ, their father, is Newton John Ford: at least I know that his N also stands for Newton. rags (talk) 23:08, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Harold Ford article gives their father's name as Newton Jackson Ford. Harold calls one of his sons Newton Jake. Would his name be Newton Jackson, after his grandfather? Seems likely. rags (talk) 23:53, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sisters[edit]

There are also sisters, at least one of whom has held elective office (?Ophelia? not sure). rags (talk) 23:16, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Defendant[edit]

OK, it's been a decade since Tennessee Waltz. I doubt it's still true that one person has yet to be tried. And who was that mysterious defendant, alleged bribor or acceptor of bribes? Is the information even relevant to this article about John Ford? Maybe not. rags (talk) 15:09, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
