Journal

The other article (see above) described Asbury's journal as containing material of great historical value, but the examples here are rather trivial (though detailed). Should probably be pruned. Does anyone know what is in the journal of more significance we could replace it with? RJFJR 23:00, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)

Abolitionist

I have seen it mentioned in another internet forum that Asbury was an abolitionist leader. If that is true, it should be mentioned here. Michael Hardy 16:01, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

This page is included in the monuments in washington dc category, but there is no mention of it in the article nor a picture.

Graven Images

"He had a strange suspicion against cameras." This would seem to be an inaccurate statement to be attributed to someone who died in 1816, as "The first permanent photograph was made in 1826 ..." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camera). "He had a strange suspicion against having his image preserved." Whitewash

It's nice that there's a mention of Bishop Richard Allen (even though it highlights his ordination and not his nonvoting status at the Christmas Conference or the fact his church had already split off from the white church in Philadelphia and eventually had to leave the MEC altogether), but it's a bit much that there is no mention whatsoever of the guy who rode with Asbury all over creation, memorized long passages of the Bible verbatim as Asbury read them to him (he was illiterate), and was called by Coke one of the greatest preachers on Earth. An explanation of why Asbury didn't ordain him and later tossed him from his circuit seems somewhat in order as well.

I'll add an initial mention and link, but y'all more knowledgeable 'thists should flesh out their relationship and whether all the praise Asbury heaped on him was just becoming modesty or honest appreciation for the fact he helped sell Asbury's ministry. — LlywelynII 04:07, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

Who ordained him and when and where did it happen?

When, where and by whom was Asbury made a bishop? This information is currently missing entirely from the Article. I don't know it either, so please if you do, add it. Thank you! -- 92.224.245.61 (talk) 06:54, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Confusing order

The article has a section on his many years at the end of his career while the Methodist leader in America,, then much further down is a more detailed section on his travels for a far shorter period in England before coming to America. Why can't we put the sections in chronological order, and pare down the coverage f his travels in England to a comparable level of detail? Edison (talk) 03:14, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
