Basic data[edit]

Education[edit]

Other facts[edit]

I spent a good chunk of my childhood in Chicagoland, both in the city of Chicago and in Berwyn, but I spent my teenage years in Paducah. After a convoluted path from my bachelor's to my master's degree, and an excruciating job search, I started working for Union Carbide in South Charleston, West Virginia (living in Dunbar) in 1990. I got "Dow-sized" in 2002, as I was one of the many people let go not long after Dow bought Union Carbide in 2001. After about a year working for a Dow contractor doing much the same work I had always been doing, I wound up in law school.

I briefly worked for the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner in 2008, which turned out to be a disaster for me. I've returned to Kentucky to try to "rebuild" my life... and I did succeed in one major task, passing the USPTO registration examination. However, I am NOT registered yet.

Articles I've worked on[edit]

Too many to count! The last time I looked, I'd made at least one edit to over 11,000 articles. Granted, most of those edits were minor fixes (spelling, grammar, typos), adding categories, and the like.

WikiProject Memberships[edit]

NBA Team Categories[edit]

Hey there! Thanks for adding the Royals team category and putting a few players in there. I did some adjustments with the Warriors and Lakers, giving them distinct Philadelphia/San Francisco and Minneapolis categories, so I'm grateful I don't have to do the Royals adjustment alone.  ;)

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for cleaning up posterized. Very nice job.

Thanks for adding to the Frankfort article.

Thanks for your excellent work in French rugby, always reliable and outstanding.

Lists of schools[edit]

Hey. While I love all of the work you're doing, I need to point out one (possible?) problem: The Manual of Style recommends avoiding links within headings Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings). Apparently is screws up things for some users (much as I agree than linking to each county article would be a nice thing).

Thanks... Flyers13 21:05, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Masters[edit]

I contacted Ivan Maisel in the Spring regarding the proper way to render the name of golf's first major, and he said that ESPN's style editors had been told that the first reference to the event should be "Masters Tournament," and not "The Masters." I see you just changed it so I thought I'd let you know that.

Barnstar[edit]

For your excellent work on sports-related articles, particularly football (soccer), I award you this barnstar. Use it wisely.--fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 04:27, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

DYK[edit]

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Adam Morrison, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.
A Barnstar!
The Reynald Pedros' Barnstar

I present you this original sport man's barnstar in recognition
and appreciation to your tireless efforts in the improvement
of football (soccer) articles. Just like Reynald, you've struggled
to make this football world a better place. AbdelkweliTalk
