untitled comments[edit]

According to the Warring States Period article, the splitting of Jin required an approval from the King of Zhou - would this be one of the areas where the King of Zhou actually had some power outside of his own state? -- Natalinasmpf 05:42, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Such approval was requested after the actual splitting had been done, since the newly formed states from Jin was supposed to be appointed vassels by the ruler of Zhou. Norminally all major states were vassels of Zhou, which had no influence upon them yet recognition is another matter. Hope this will chlarify.Laforet 09:40, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Background on the Partition of Jin[edit]

This article needs more background regarding its partition. Presently the only information was that the three lords of Wei, Zhao and Han asked to be recognised as vassals from Zhou; there is nothing about the internal struggles beforehand. I'll work on that. Mongols[edit]

Not one mention of Genghis Khan or the Mongols. What the hell, Wikipedia?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.168.207.237 (talkcontribs) 19 November 2014‎

One possible explanation may be that the state existed from the 11th century BCE until 376 BCE—or about 1,500 years before Genghis was born.  Philg88 talk 15:35, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think the user misunderstood this page to be about the Jürchen Jin dynasty (1115–1234). Ogress smash! 23:46, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
