TSG[edit]

Hey again Argyrios, it's Mike the ole' myther (your answers to my prior questions on The Seventh God are in the discussion history for this page). If you still check this page, please let me know as there are just a few things I'd like to ask you about it! Blue Danube 00:00, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Hello, Argyrios Saccopoulos, and welcome to Wikipedia! Wikipedia is one of the world's fastest growing internet sites. We aim to build the biggest and most comprehensive encyclopaedia in the world! To date we have over four million articles in a host of languages. The English language Wikipedia alone has 1,459,405 articles! But we still need more! Please feel free to contribute your knowledge and expertise to our site.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Also, don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! It might be a good idea to read this to see how you can avoid making common mistakes, though.

Just to give you a really basic overview so you don't make any mistakes early:

  1. Wikipedia keeps a neutral point of view policy, meaning that all contributions must not be biased one way or the other. Even if both biases are presented, it is still not allowed on Wikipedia.
  2. Only public domain resources can be copied directly to Wikipedia without permission — this does not include most web pages.
  3. Be bold! In my opinion, this may be Wikipedia's most important policy. Go ahead and edit a page! Don't worry about "ruining" other's work, this is a wiki! (Of course, major changes should probably be proposed on talk pages to achieve consensus, but don't be scared!)

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please always sign your name on talk pages (but not articles!) using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the time and date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! —Mets501 (talk) 04:07, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shreveport Rate Case[edit]

Hi, good job on the Shreveport Rate Case article. I had been meaning to do that one but I had a lot of other stuff to do lately, but I did make some improvements to it. By the way, what is UTexas Law School like? How big is your class? I go to Northeastern University School of Law here in Boston, and we only have about 200-250 students per class here. --Eastlaw 02:02, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, are you interested in joining Wikiproject U.S. Supreme Court cases? --Eastlaw 02:38, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Long time no see, I bring a message[edit]

I mentioned coming accross you on here in passing to Myrd from Project Magma, and he said he wanted to talk to you about TheTain (thetain.org, it's like The Mill if you want to know - only newer and not as much stuff yet (if ever)). I imagine it's over permission to put something on it you worked on, but I don't know. Whack out an e-mail to myth - at - project magma - dot - net if you want. I can't find your e-mail address in the vast archive my hotmail account has built up so I'm resorting to messaging you here.

Peace. (The Elfoid 17:01, 26 April 2007 (UTC)).[reply]

Plan II Honors nominated for deletion[edit]

Because you created the page, and are one of the leading contributors, I thought I should notify you. Guanxi 17:14, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello from a new NSF-funded legal research project![edit]

Hi there,

I hope this message finds you well! My name is Scott, and I work with a project called SCALES, out of Northwestern University (https://scales-okn.org). We recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation to create a national resource for enabling access to court records and increasing the transparency of the justice system. Here's a paper we published recently in Science discussing the goals of our project, as well as an introductory video.

As you've contributed to the Supreme Court cases WikiProject, I wanted to reach out and inquire into how this SCALES corpus might be useful to you as an editor. We have a great deal of data and metadata about cases in the federal court system that could improve lots of stubs and B-/C-class articles (something I'm personally excited about, since in my brief teenage Wikipedia-editing heyday I was often drawn to working with stubs and new articles...) And in general, I think the SCALES platform will be a powerful tool for empowering citizens to understand the judiciary and its impact on the country, a priority I know many of us share in this topic space.

Let me know if you're interested in talking further and helping us understand how we can work with you. Thanks for your time!

All best,

Scott —Preceding undated comment added 21:51, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
