Is the Television station of greater importance than all other Three Letter Acronyms "HSV"[edit]

No, the article should be moved. In fact, this article has taken the redirect for merely "HSV", which is rather impolite. The station is HSV-7, and as a highly important television station of global importance, it shall take its place of honor in the HSV disambiguation page, where it belongs. An alternative might be, HSV_(television_station) or even Television Station HSV. ManVhv 21:38, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disagreement over the correct name of the station[edit]

  • It's not called HSV-7 anymore because it was made into a Network. Now it's the Seven Network. Seven Melbourne was called HSV-7 because it only broadcasted in Melbourne.. now it broadcasts in all the states - Networked. --Jamesbehave 11:05, 20 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Seven Network now refers to HSV-7 as its South Melbourne Studios (managed by Global Television) where Melbourne-based shows like "Deal or No Deal", "Wheel of Fortune", "It Takes Two", and "Dancing with the Stars" is tape-recorded. The main Seven Network station in Melbourne is now located at the Docklands and is referred to as 7BCM (Broadcast Centre Melbourne). At 7BCM the entire Seven Network is broadcast in a centralised environment. The Docklands Studio is also the home of Seven News Melbourne.

Jamesbehave, The Seven Network outlet in Melbourne still has the official call-sign HSV-7, although this is rarely used on-air, and even though now the station also simulcasts in digital on VHF channel 6. Television stations in Australia (commercial, ABC, SBS and community stations) all still have proper call-signs assigned (mostly for regulatory reasons) but with networking arrangements and sometimes varied frequencies, these are rarely used on-air. --Andjb 14:15, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About the confusion over what year HSV-7 ran "Say Hello", I'm pretty certain that it was used in 1986 because in '87 all Seven Network stations went into uniformity. ATN-7 had "Let's All Be There" while the other branches used similar Idents but kept the music the same. Eddie Blake 18:12, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Slogans[edit]

I'm very strongly tempted to delete them all, as well as the somewhat pathetic (since there are actual images of them all over the place) descriptions of the old logos. I've condensed them into columns so that they don't take up the space that they did but I still really don't think they belong in the article - I'm pretty sure there was a page somewhere saying WP wasn't just a dumping ground for random lists..

There are plenty of other websites that have that sort of information anyway, so I don't see why they really need to go here. timgraham 05:03, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
