Article desperately needs help from fair-minded, intelligent editors[edit]

Would you mind taking a look at List of cult and new religious movement researchers and encouraging other fair-minded, intelligent editors you might know to do the same? An editor who may not know much about the topic seems to have taken "ownership" of the article and is ignoring criteria for inclusion that have been in place for years. Admittedly, it is a controversial topic, but it seems obvious that someone actually being a researcher (having both had the requisite training as well as actually conducting at least one research study on the topic) would be required. -DoctorW 02:28, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:33, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:27, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Free rationale for File:Lhbcover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lhbcover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under Non-Free content criteria but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a Non-Free rationale.

If you have uploaded other Non-Free media, consider checking that you have specified the Non-Free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:51, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Asutitle.png listed for deletion[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Asutitle.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Regarding Revisions[edit]

Thank you for finding the Industrial Arts Building name. I was not able to find the information, the building is no longer called such and has not been since the 1970's when the Anthropology Department moved in. Also, the Tempe campus is colloquially known as the "main" campus of the university. As a local of metro Phoenix, and a native of the area (but not a graduate of ASU) it would be beneficial for Wikipedia to include this information for someone not familiar with the school but looking for information. I reviewed other university's wiki pages and it seems like these additions are added for information purposes without citing sources for each sentence, which would become cumbersome. There also needs to be many revisions to ASU's page that give more information. As it stands now, there is too much focus on the campuses, which are listed multiple times, and not enough information on the background and mission of the university. I am willing to make the changes and add some information, but I ask that information that I give, which will have sources be used to expand the article and not continually deleted.

Furthermore, I did not violate any copy write as the information taken from the website was quoted from the primary source using quotation marks. I find your assumptions of violations rather overzealous and unnecessary. If you have a problem with additions, as an editor, I would ask you to discuss before removing in order for others to provide feedback. I appreciate your "editing" but if you seem to be more concerned with censoring accurate information and suppressing new additions than actually remaining within guidelines of vague policy. I also add comments to the talk page of whatever I have updated with brief explanations.--68.98.115.70 (talk) 17:30, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Revision of Colleges/Schools[edit]

I noticed that you added a school to to the list under organization and administration after it was deleted. However, this might need to be expanded even further. I found a list of Schools/Colleges with deans here. Should the list and count of schools/colleges be expanded to include each one with a dean?--68.98.115.70 (talk) 12:02, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Enrollment for ASU campuses[edit]

The reason for the split is to distinguish the campus makeup. Because there are 4 campuses, even if they are under one accreditation, it allows a reader to understand the make up of the student body better. Because many people search for information regarding Tempe, as opposed to the other 3 campuses, making the distinction will allow those unfamiliar to grasp the university's unique circumstances. Therefore, the separation is appropriate. I will include this message on the talk page of the university. There is short discussion developing on the talk page if you would like to see more information.--68.98.115.70 (talk) 02:09, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
