Untitled[edit]

The transliterations introduced by Emily Zilch are not very helpful and, in light of the PERSIAN language, phonetically wrong! Her transliteration is ARABIC and does not apply here, as we are lining out Persian History in a Persian context. Proper Persian phonetics do pronounce the "L" in the Arabic article "Al", as opposed to Arabic pronunciation, which swallows it. "Fatima" is pronounced Fatemeh in Persian (and nor Fat_i_me!) The pronunciation Issue is very nicely lined out in Wikipedia Article Zahed Some Native Persian speaker (Ruzbeh?) please find a solution to the ensuing mess!

In oder to save readers from increasing confusion, the above mentioned accents have been finally deleted. While these accents could serve the knowledgeable reader as pronunciation guides, ensuing inconsistencies due to leanings toward Arabic pronunciation, disturb the historical PERSIAN context, as Persian (Farsi) native speakers have a differing phonetic approach of Arab names!

Lahijan or Lankaran?[edit]

So is the tomb in Lahijan or Lankaran? The article says both and the picture is from Lankaran AZ but there is also a tomb in Lahijan IR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cPcHsfsKBY Lahijan, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77pSGaU_xpM Lankaran — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.211.69.169 (talk) 06:00, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CLEAN UP REQUIRED - Reference to Lankaran with regard to Sheikh Zahed Gilani is not factual (if not downright silly!)[edit]

THIS is clearly and provenly the TOMB location and PHOTO, as it had been prior to an amateur exchanging it:

Zahed Gilani spent all his life in Lahijan/Gilan and is buried there. The Safavid Shahs, descending from Zahed Gilani through his daughter have maintained the Lahijan Tomb at Sheikhanvar Village for some 250 years.

No sense in entring the nonsense about LANKARAN, and posting an obscure photo of some unrelated building on the ZAHED GILANI page!!!

Someone sensible please revert to original photo and check on the farfetched assertion that MINORSKY, of all experts should have made the reference about Lankaran. The referenced source ISLAMIC ENCYCLPEDIA has obviously merely confused the original factual reference to LAHIDJAN!!!

A check of the purported Islamic Encyclpedia reveals that THERE his DEATH is mentioned to have taken place in Siavarud a part of Lahijan district: https://islamansiklopedisi.org.tr/ibrahim-zahid-i-geylani The false assertions to Lankaran are entirely baseless and no references, even, can be found anywhere! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pantherarosa (talkcontribs) 18:36, April 24, 2021 (UTC)

Google searches are not reliable sources. Nor are Facebook pages. I'm making no comment on the reliability of islamansiklopedisi.org.tr but, at first glance, it appears to be an online encyclopedia. Encyclopedias are not RS. — The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 20:26, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The references to the previously correct post are in the history of this article. All that is required is reversion to a previous, longstanding well referenced version, that depicted an image of the Zahed Gilani Shrine near Lahijan. Someone competent needs to do this. I am not able, due to confinement to a sickbed for past 5 years. Having a previous record of editing, as can be easily veryfied, I can only dictate my posts here to a friendly soul, not familar with editing or signing off properly.Pantherarosa (talk) 15:39, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Obvious mixup of geographic location (LAHIJAN vs. Lankaran)[edit]

Quite obviously someone mistook the Iranian city of LAHIJAN for Lankaran, which is located in the present day Republic of Azerbaijan. While there are countless scientific references to LAHIJAN as the place of Zahed Gilani's shrine/tomb, nowhere at all is Lankaran cited by anybody, but the editor who falsly claims that Minorsky (a respected expert historian)had made a mention to this effect. The photo depicting an edifice allegedly situated in Lankaran needs to be reverted to the original photo, which had been posted on this page since 2004, depicting the famous shrine of Sheykh Zahed Gilani in Lahijan. On Google Maps the shrine is quoted with precise ccordinates: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Sheikh+Zahed+Gilani's+Shrine/@37.2017385,50.0441731,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x3f8ab56ccd7d5e5d:0xa6aeb29705a2672e!8m2!3d37.2017342!4d50.0463618 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pantherarosa (talkcontribs) 14:33, May 13, 2021 (UTC)

Pantherarosa, please remember to sign your posts by typing four tildes at the end, like this: ~~~~. That way we know who we're talking to.
Again, Google is not a reliable source. You need an actual citation for the change you want made. — The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 14:24, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

HandThatFeeds, I merely offer the geographic coordinates, regardless of Google, The location is scientifically established, renowned experts on Safavid Iran, such as Savory, Minorsky, Falsafi, Gronke have written precisely on the subject. Any people familiar with the subject merely laugh, seeing amateurs spamming Wikipedia. I actually checked the History of the article and took note of the previously wellfounded and referenced portrayal. Wikipedia looses luster by the day, unfortunately, due to lack of competent supervision of data entry and editing. Any nonsense seems to go... with clueless folks fooling around, sort of "blind leading the blind" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.5.190.191 (talkcontribs) 16:27, May 15, 2021 (UTC)

You forgot to log in, and forgot to sign, and are apparently not listening. Until you have a source, we aren't doing this. We don't care what you think of Wikipedia. — The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 20:57, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For good order's sake, THIS is not me posting. I do, however, agree with some of the statements made here. I have been an ardent editor, as can be easily seen in my contributions list and am certaily an unwavering fan of Wikipedia, despite the occasional hickupps Pantherarosa (talk) 15:44, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
