DYK for Percé Rock[edit]

I have nominated Galactic quadrant, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Galactic quadrant. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. --EEMIV (talk) 15:26, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear The Steve,

Many thanks for your interest, indeed. My sincere apologies to reply you considerably late, however; having a tough week out here, it was a little difficult to make a prompt answer. Well, I have checked the mentioned article of K-1 after your first message, while you were working phase on that, which is a brilliant piece of work. But, despite I'm very glad for your efforts, sincerely hoping it's going to turn out to be a constant help for martial arts related article; it does not change the reality that there is a deletion swelling run around, by certain people. This fashion is, indeed, a decent example of present day inquisition as I've commented that way you saw in a recent relisted log. There's a lack in Wikipedia's system right on this topic. The logs are not announced on a proper level, where limited number of people attend, no matter what their knowledge is about the topic, but those can make comment would directly effect on the destiny of the articles. I'm seeing such thing spreading around rapidly, which likely to jeopardise the reputation of Wikipedia itself.

I can make a comprehensive research (which I could already do if I'd have some more time) to explain the situation in details. Whatever the situation is and going to be, it is definite that Wikipedia will continue to lose valuable contributors, people who just love here and try to help in accordance with their interest, people who has no stake behind this, people who fed up and already quit due to this stuff, in which they were left as minorities to defend the values they handled - which are as "notable" as Himalayas, Big Ben, World War II, Marlyn Monroe, New York style pizza, Malaria in Namibia, Amazons, Google, Jesus sculpture in Rio, Jean Pascal, or Canadian Curling National Team.

Glad to meet you, Keep in touch, Best Regards, Umi1903 (talk) 22:31, 21 October 2011 (UTC) Bold text[reply]

Bellator[edit]

Thanks for your addition to the Bellator AfD argument. I appreciate it. Udar55 (talk) 13:30, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Chris Hastings (ski jumper) has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 22:02, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

gr[edit]

Hi Steve. May I ask you a couple of questions?

What is gr short for?

In your contributions, shouldn't one strive to supply more Edit Summaries, as the guideline seems to be to summarise all edits except maybe 'm' ones?

Is it possible that I might have disruptively edited the Marcel Gleffe article[edit]

1. When I forget to take my medicine, new accounts have been created (from the closest computer at hand) on websites where I already have an account. The creation of the article, from which the following quote has the feel of some of my work:

"Marcel Gleffe (born 1979 in Teterow, Germany) is a German living in Norway who saved the lives of several people during the massacre on the island of Utøya.[1] He became known in Germany as the "Saviour of Utøya" (Retter von Utøya). He was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. (Early life) From March 1999 to July 2000, Gleffe was a conscript, serving in the air defences of the German army. He extended his military service to take part in a deployment to Kosovo. He left the Bundeswehr as a Hauptgefreiter der Reserve.

He has lived in Siggerud, Norway since 2008.[2] ( Utøya massacre) On 22 July 2011, during the attack on the island of Utøya, he saved lives by departing the pier at Utvika (when he heard shots being fired at Utøya) with his motor boat (for 6 people[3], model "Pioner 15"), and throwing life vests to fleeing swimmers while heading for Utøya, and picking up refugees of the massacre.[4] (He came within 20-30 meters of the shore of the island, after having seen the killer in the vicinity of the island's pump house.[5]) He loaded up his boat 5 times, before police requested him to stop what he was doing.[6] By then he had pulled 20-25 people from the water.[7][2] (Honours) On 27 September 2011, Gleffe was awarded the Ehrenabzeichen in Gold by the Verband der Reservisten der Deutschen Bundeswehr. One day later, he received the media prize, the Goldene Henne, and on 4 October 2011 he received the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

A Norwegian magazine (Ny Tid) voted Gleffe as "Norwegian of the year 2011" (together with Synnøve Kvamme and Prableen Kaur).[8] His award was given for "by risking his own life, he placed himself as the first on the scene with a boat to save members of AUF who were swimming for their lives, away from death. Gleffe has until now received 4 citations of merit in his nation of birth, also from the president of Germany, but no citations of merit in the nation where he resides — and where he saved over 20 lives."[9]

  • What do you think I should do (apart from following doctor's advice), in respect to that article? Is it possible that I have made any disruptive edits in regards to the article? --Aksstar (talk) 12:46, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Do not worry about it. Nobody owns an article in Wikipedia. If there are things wrong they can be corrected by others. --AJHingston (talk) 16:09, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comments on my talk page. This information up above is a template, and was created when I approved the article. When the article was created, it pulled the editor's contributions from the AFC page over, so all the history should be correct. The article really needs to be added to additional categories and have some good quality free-use pictures added. Let me know if you have any questions. Hey SilkTork, you may have noticed my comment after you closed that same AfD. In fact, you closed it while I was reading the comments, and, of course, the browser didn't update. Anyway, sorry for modifying it outside of your close. Cheers,  The Steve
No, I hadn't noticed it because it came 15 minutes after the AfD was closed, and I had already logged off by then. By consensus we don't accept new comments on an AfD after it has been closed. To avoid confusion, you should remove your comment. SilkTork ✔Tea time 09:23, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

commons:File:WishingSteps.jpg is one of yours.
