This article makes you think that U of Hawaii had a production network based on Aloha. This is not the case. It was a purely experimental network, which nevertheless was more convenient than other means to remotely submit jobs (modem over the few wired telephone lines), but it died when the research program funding was over, as the University didn't want to spent money on a computer network...

I can write up an article on this, as I've done some research on what they really did, and hunted down some of the original papers, and got some e-mail answers from Prof. Abramson about unclear issues. I'd call it "Alohanet" , with references back and forth to the Aloha protocol, which describes a generic access method.
