Chelios, to retire soon?[edit]

He's playing fine for a guy nearing 44. Retire soon? I think not. GoodDay 21:56, 21 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Chelios has 5 points in around 60 games. He's slow, cannot hit well anymore and only offers wisdom in the dressing room. This man is as old as the hills. He should retire after this season.

Chelios has signed a 1-year contract (2006-07 season), with the Detroit Red Wings. GoodDay 15:54, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tonight during the Redwings Awvalanche game just before the end of the first period around 02:40, 10 January 2007 (UTC) the anouncer on the "Versus" (OLN) network says, "Chris Chelios who is about to turn 45, shouldn't just go into the hockey hall of fame, he should go into the Smithsonian!" B4Ctom1 02:49, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did he just set a record for the oldest defensman to score a goal in the playoffs? John DiFool2 22:25, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plus minus[edit]

Could someone add a plus/ minus column for his stats as well as for other defensemen?--Nick Dillinger 06:27, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It took a while; Chelli's played forever! --Avalanchebad 05:13, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The birthdates in the infobox and the article are not the same

First Line[edit]

Sorry if I'm not doing this right, but I rarely edit wikipedia.

The first line of this article claims that Chelios "was an American professional ice hockey defenseman." The problem with this is when you refer to someone in the past tense, you are implying he or she is dead. Chris Chelios is not dead. Why is it not constructive to clarify a poorly worded sentence?Notafakeaccount123 (talk) 00:19, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't edited anything on this page but the sentence you are referring to is worded correctly. The use of "was" here refers to his profession. As in he was a hockey player, and now he isn't. Just like I "was" in high school, and now I'm not. Clearly that does not necessarily imply death. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.248.181.11 (talk) 22:49, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
