Airborne Qualification[edit]

Why does a brigade of redcaps need to be airborne?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.92.225.164 (talk

Because Army Regulations say that EVERY member of an Airborne unit MUST be Airborne Qualified.SSG Cornelius Seon (Retired) 16:01, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This question has become OBE (Overtaken By Events). The Army apparently asked the same question and this brigade, like most other non-divisional brigades at Fort Bragg, was taken off jump status. It became clear there was no scenario in which an MP brigade would need to participate in a combat parachute jump, so sending personnel to jump school, maintaining parachutes for them, arranging for air time with the Air Force for jumps, paying them jump pay, etc., was a needless expense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by VilePig (talkcontribs) 17:55, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does this even deserve its own page? It's barely even a stub Nik42 23:05, 30 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It needs serious addition, but it's certainly worthy of an article. -- Necrothesp 19:59, 1 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
