Untitled[edit]

This article claims that Element Lad was "an originally supposed to be gay character," but there are no citations in the article at all. Is there a credible source to back this up? Breakaway 08:38, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think he was ever supposed to be gay. He was attracted to Light Lass in an early story. --84.231.134.30 18:28, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have absolutely no idea why this article is appearing twice! I don't dare delete one in case it deletes the other somehow. (I'm pretty untechnical so I'm nervous about doing that kind of thing!)

there is some inacuracies in the article such as the fact that Shvaughn Erin was pushed as a love intrest for element lad by paul levitz not jim shooter. more here http://www.gayleague.com/gay/characters/display.php?id=139

Element Lad and his sexuality[edit]

I have been bold and removed unsourced categories, removed an external link, and removed an uncited section. Unless the character states he is gay, I suggest it not be readded. Otherwise, it just seems like OR.--Rockfang (talk) 14:46, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Compounds[edit]

Shouldn't it be metioned that Element Lad has transformed the elements in compounds? -Golem866 (talk) 15:02, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why is that distinction important? Nutiketaiel (talk) 15:30, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Five Years Later??[edit]

In this section the name "Shvaughn" appears for the first time, with the cryptic information that Shvaughn "had been born as a male named Sean".

Say what? Shvaughn who? Shouldn't the first mention of a character explain who the character is in relation to either the main character or the series title mentioned? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.95.43.249 (talk) 00:05, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Scope of his powers[edit]

Prior to threeboot he did not have to touch something to transmute it. His power was often depicted as a kind of beam or ray that transmuted things at range... but other times he just caused stuff to change.

He once created a compound (at range) to defeat Mordru at the end of the Earthwar by transmuting free floating hydrogen atoms in space into soil to trigger Mordru's fear of being buried alive (though he needed a teleapathic link to Braniac 5 provided by Saturn Girl to get the correct formula (I'm going to assume there was a bit of space debris in the area from their battle as well, the ratio of hydrogen atoms in space would be quite low.

He also was able to transmute things to special elements like kryptonite (even gold kryptonite) to use vs kryptonians or inertron, one of the most indestructible elements in the DC universe.

It is implied that he could destroy a person by simply transmuting them to a gas or something but he would never do such a thing because of his ethical code against killing. In the L.E.G.I.O.N. comic a rogue Trommite without such ethics was able to coerce powerful heroes like Lady Quark with the threat of transmuting them to nothing. The Legion Lost version of the character is one without such restrictions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aapold (talkcontribs) 11:55, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
