Dry County[edit]

Cherokee is not a "dry" county. Please stop adding that assertion to this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.76.154.130 (talk) 21:24, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I might also add that I buy liquor by the drink at Josie's ( a fine Italian restaurant located in Scammon) and package liquor at Larry's Liquor in Columbus on a regular basis. In fact, the cities of Columbus and Scammon have now legalized Sunday liquor sales. By no reasonable definition could this county be labelled "dry"

Not a dry county —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.76.154.130 (talk) 18:43, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As you seem to be the only one who cares about this, from what I can tell, Cherokee County is still a dry county although it authorizes the sell of alcohol--possibly on a case-by-case basis. It's up to the counties to decide whether they are "wet" or "dry" counties as all of Kansas is a dry state. I know the info about wet and dry counties is out of date (although only by barely two years) but if you actually live in Cherokee County, you'd have better knowledge on if there was a vote or legislation authorizing the sell of alcohol in the county. I was unable to find anything from any website associated with Cherokee County or the local papers (you can only search the last 14 days).
